Note Your Feelings

A Student Mental Health Awareness Campaign

Note Your Feelings is a recurring student mental health awareness campaign designed to spark honest conversations and remind young people that no one has to face challenges alone.

The campaign invites sixth- through twelfth-grade students to notice, name, and express what they are feeling by writing and displaying notes about emotions, reading what others share, watching an explainer video, and using practical student mental health resources.

Launched in 2024 and repeated in 2025, Note Your Feelings has given more than 8,000 students the opportunity to participate through local schools and community host sites. Beginning in late fall 2026, CATCH plans to run the campaign before winter break, a time when many students may be carrying school pressure, social stress, and the emotional weight of the season.

Funding Partner

This direct-to-student outreach is made possible through a generous grant from the  Northfield Township since 2024.

How It Works

During each campaign cycle, participating schools and community host sites receive materials to help students and community members write and display notes about emotions, read what others share, and connect with practical mental health resources.

The campaign is designed to be simple, visible, and student-centered. It creates a shared moment for young people to name what they are feeling and recognize that support is available.

Conversation starter for families

If your child participates in Note Your Feelings, ask: What did your note say? You can also talk together about what they noticed, what surprised them, or what kind of support helps when emotions feel big.

  • 2 8.5 x 11 tabletop frames

Photos & Social Sharing

Please take photos of the campaign display at your site and share them with CATCH by emailing anne@catchiscommunity.org.

If you post on social media, please tag @CATCHisCommunity and use #NoteYourFeelings.

What You’ll Need to Provide:

  • One 6 ft. table to display the NYF tabletop frames, Post-it notes, and Sharpie pens
  • Materials to hang or attach NYF banner on-site
  • Optional: A large sheet of kraft paper.  We suggest hanging it near the table so participants can attach their completed Post-it note messages. This also makes it easier to take down the display at the end of the campaign.

Personalize Your Display

Make your Note Your Feelings station feel welcoming and approachable for your site. Some sites add balloons, display sample notes, or post prompts such as:

  • “Let’s talk about mental health. We all have it.”
  • “What are you feeling today?”
  • “Let’s support one another.”
  • “Share a note of hope.”
