Mental Health Awareness Month
Community awareness, connection, and resources each May
Each May, CATCH observes Mental Health Awareness Month with programs, activities, resources, and community partnerships that make mental health easier to notice, name, and talk about.
Explore the annual campaigns below, including the 2026 theme, Good Days Built Together, and past community-awareness efforts.

At Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South, CATCH shared sleep masks and tips to help students think about rest as part of emotional wellness. For elementary students, CATCH distributed pinwheels as a simple breathing tool for moments when emotions feel big or hard to manage.

In 2023, CATCH focused on helping parents recognize signs that a child may be struggling and start conversations about mental health.
A short video demonstrated simple ways to talk with children about their feelings, while local mental health professionals shared additional guidance through the CATCH Journal.
CATCH also invited local mental health professionals to share their insights by contributing to the CATCH Journal. Read their advice below.
Let’s Talk!
Mental Health Awareness Month 2022
In 2022, CATCH brought mental health conversations into everyday community spaces. Through conversation starters, family activities, mental health tools, and community events, we encouraged families to talk openly about emotional well-being and reminded people that no one has to navigate mental health challenges alone.
We partnered with local restaurants and business to share table tents for prompting discussions around mental health and free mental health tools for family to utilize at home.
We began our partnership with the GBN Boys Lacrosse Team by hosting the first annual Mental Health Resource Fair.
